The Wheel of Time series has been a cornerstone in my household for as long as I can remember. Re-reading it (again!) over the holidays sparked an idea I couldn’t shake, why not create jewelry inspired by my favorite characters? After all, who says adults can’t have fun playing dress-up?

These designs are my love letter to the series. They’re not meant to be literal replicas but rather wearable nods to the magic, mystery, and personalities of the characters. So, let’s celebrate a little artistic freedom and dive in!

First up Moiraine Sedai.

Wear the calm in the chaos

Picture this - you're faced with an impossible situation, but you remain serene, composed, and unshaken. No one commands the room quite like Moiraine. She doesn’t need to shout or brandish weapons. Instead, her mere presence speaks volumes. 

Known for her connection to fate and of course the iconic blue shawl, her presence is subtle but unmissable, just like the perfect piece of jewelry.

Picking our designs

I knew I wanted a good thread of blue for her Ajah to be present in each of the items so decided on a spectrum of color from the lightest chalcedony through to the deep blue goldstones.

As the blues were so well connected with their eyes and ears, it felt natural that earrings would be a perfect fit!!

One of her most iconic pieces is the hair chain with a blue stone, so I knew it would have to be included. In my mind it always had a subtly to it, so as to remain undetected, but beautiful enough to give a regal elegance.

Finally I wanted to have a nod to the snake ring, but not be an ouroboros. So I chose a snake chain border on this spectacular statement ring.

Why we all love Moiraine 

Moiraine embodies the power of quiet control. When life gets chaotic, it’s easy to feel like you’re spiraling. But Moiraine reminds us to stay calm, think clearly, and act with purpose.
